Pope's Stone
Would you like to start a short hiking tour on your arrival day? In about an hour on foot, you can reach the Papststein. The climb is particularly worthwhile, because at the summit of the table mountain you will be overwhelmed by a fantastic 360-degree view over the entire Saxon Switzerland.
Our tip: A visit to the rustic Papststein mountain restaurant is definitely worthwhile, both for its food and its atmosphere.
The Painter's Way
Follow in the footsteps of the Romantic era and discover one of Germany's most beautiful hiking trails, which passes right by our house. Two excursions are available here: Stage 6 from Gohrisch to Schmilka or a section of Stage 7 from Gohrisch to Königstein.
Our tip: Treat yourself to a break at the Schmilka organic sanctuary. The village is one of the most beautiful in Saxony and offers numerous places to stop and eat.
The Forststeig
Do you like adventure on trails away from civilization? The untouched landscapes of the Forststeig Elbsandstein are the right resting place for you. Join in at Stage 7 and make your way from Gohrisch across the peaks to Bad Schandau station.
Our tip: Directly in the Bad Schandau national station is the cozy Café Drehscheibe. Here you can recharge your batteries with a cappuccino and a delicious panini.
